Default Connector help

I have this connector under my dash thats not plugged into anything
It's a 8 prong plug with only 5 wires in it
With top having the clip top row being 1-4 bottoms row being 5-8

1-open
2-light orange/orange tracer
3-green/yellow tracer
4-orange/ black tracer
5-open
6-open
7-light blue/pink tracer
8-pink/black tracer

Also have a plug that comes up by the driver side hood hinge, was there supposed to be a hood light or does this one go to something else only two wires one black and one red if I remember correctly

It's not uncommon to find vacant connectors -- the factory makes one basic wiring harness that supports every available option, and any electrically powered options your truck doesn't have will leave you with open connectors.

If you're really curious to know what any electrical connector in your truck is for, grab the factory service manual for your '96 from the FAQ/DIY section and then find the appropriate connector location diagram.

The way it's bent makes me think it was plugged into something, and since my interior lights aren't working I had assumed that it had something to go with them but I'll look at the manual

Figured it out, the plug goes into the back of the climate control, it plugs into the bottom I'm guessing for the maint. Required and trans temp light, smashed my finger finding it but it's all good, grabbed me a over head console for 13$ and they are asking anywhere from 50-60 on eBay I'm gonna swap my temp and gps into it and call it a day. Cool thing is I can grab one with the gps for the same price, and sell them for half the price on eBay
