Default Dash lights

I have a 95 1500 5.9L V8 4x4 and my stereo recently went out. So i replaced it with a new after market stereo. Everything works fine other than the dash lights (Speedometer, rpm gauge, gas, etc.) All stay on. Even though the truck is off and the headlights push thing is pushed all the way in. Is there a fuse or a wiring harness or something I can unplug to stop It?

If it did not do this before you replaced the head unit, there is something amiss with the wiring. I would pull the head unit back out and inspect for pinched, cut wires.

My guess is somehow your +12 is getting to your headlight circuit:

1) through your stereo. Is it new?

2) you wired your dash lights to your +12 at your stereo instead of to the stereo display dimmer wire

Even if the dash was wired to the stereo the stereo shuts off so why would it still be getting power.

1) The stereo is fairly new

2) All I did was take the harness's of the old head unit and cut all the wires off the harness so they were hanging free and repliced them and hooked them up according to color codes.

There was one wire I was not 100% sure on. A pink one.
Red (power)
Yellow (+12)
Black (ground)

I Took the pink wire and fed it into the red thinking it was some power wire. I'm gonna double check that in a minute we have 3 ft snow to plow so I scooping atm.

You are correct, with the power off, the stereo shuts off- the display. You mentioned it yourself in the reply, there is a switched 12v and there is a constant 12v. When you hooked the pink up to the red, that did it. The pink, from the truck, should go to a "dimmer" wire for the stereo (dims the display when your lights are on).
