Hey guys on feb10th I had my 99 ram 1500 4x4 360 auto in the tranny shop and had the gov transducer and solenoid changed because it wouldn't shift into first gear. They did that with fluid and filter and adjusted the bands the front was fine but rear need adjustment anyway on feb 19th I left home and heard a big bang so I turned around and while backing up my reverse now slips and only on dry tar no slip on snow or ice. now the shop is saying full rebuild any ideas?

It's been a long time and I've forgotten a bunch but I also once lost reverse on my '01 Ram with the 46RE, band adjustment got me reverse back, still going strong, and that was nearly 3 years ago.

You can find the instructions for band adjustment in the FSM, should find that in the sticky section, it's really not too bad, pull the pan and have a look for yourself before you commit to a rebuild, $$$$.

I don't have the pictures anymore or I'd post them.

If you do decide to pull the pan post pictures, makes it a lot easier if we can see. In my case the adjuster nut for the low/rear band was loose.

ya i wouldnt consider rebuilding if no reverse after that service. they probably botched the band adjusting. however the reverse servo is known to take a dump on you. i think they just messed up the adjustment however. check that first.
