My 98 Dodge ram came with a 318. I blew that motor and put in a 2002 318, that i got for free. I also have a 360 in my garage ready to build. i want to bore 30 over and put a lumpy cam. Wondering if I can still use my throttle body and will i need to change transmission. I will be running 35" tires. Truck is being painted this week and just ordered a new ram air hood. If anyone has any advise it would be appreciated. This is my first build up.

 

If it's got an automatic, you'll be killing it soon enough with added power and larger tires. My personal favorite is PATC's Mega Viper. It'll hold up just fine even if you double the power of the big noisy thing in front of it.

PS: You'll want a larger throttle body to not suffocate a lumpy cam. And of course a custom tune, since a lumpy bumper and a factory tune won't play nice together.
