Default Decent Code Reader

Looking at buying a code reader on eBay. I don't mind buying one used, as I can't see that being a problem. Will the same reader work for my '97 Ram 1500 as well as my '07 F-150? What features do I want, and what do I want to avoid? I obviously know nothing about code readers...

Just about any OBD2 code reader/scanner will work on both trucks. Check Amazon. You can get new ones for next to nothing these days. All depends on what features you want in addition to reading and clearing codes. Read some Amazon reviews.

You can get codes on a 97 by using the key trick.
