Default Refurb radio for 1997 Ram

The radio in my 1997 full size Ram is messing up and needs replacement. When this problem first starting occurring 2 years, I looked for replacement radios and found a site where they refurb the original radio to add the input capability for phones or other MP3 players. Has anyone done this or where would you go in general to find a replacement radio for my truck?

Why bother, The aftermarket stuff is better than stock anyway.

I have a stock one (AM/FM/Cassette) sitting on a shelf in my shop. You interested in buying a stock radio? Mine works exactly as it should.

I put a double din in mine, required a bit of surgery on the dash to fit, but it's a cheap ($75) obsolete Pioneer--has bluetooth, USB, aux input, CD, and radio. From Amazon. Even cheap Pioneers work so much better than any other (except Sony) moderately priced aftermarket deck.

If you buy an aftermarket, make sure it will fit. A double din is not the right size, too big. A single din will work fine, just buy the correct installation kit & wiring kit. Or you can look for a 1.5 din. You can get a new Pioneer and installation stuff for about $100.

Do you have the Infinity sound system?

I went with double din as well, the old radio needs a serious upgrade. The 94-97 dash works great if you remove the cigarette tray and lighter.

I'll have to look. . . I don't know if I actually saw the sticker on the radio or I dreamed it. I'll post it up later today. (later) I don't see any indication that it's an infinity. Sorry.
