Not sure?
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd and I know the starter is bad because it's not cranking right. Also when the truck finally starts it won't move when I press the gas for a few seconds and then it'll go, and if I press on the brakes shortly after it starts moving my whole truck stops like I just slammed on them. Could this problem be the starter.
Not related to the starter, but not moving for a few seconds could be the transmission check valve has been removed and the torque converter has drained. brakes could be sticking as well.
Agreed! I think it's transmission related.
My truck leaks Transmission Fluid, and I've noticed that it will do the same thing if it's low on fluid. Might just need to check your fluid level.

If you don't drive it regularly the brakes slamming on the first time you use them is normal. The irregular rusty surface that builds up grabs a lot harder than the smooth metal of a regularly used brake. Once the rust rubs off, the brakes'll act normal. When I hop in my truck for the first time in a few weeks, I make sure to wait until the pavement (1000ft away from my driveway) and then stop hard to get rid of the rust and then I'm good to go.
The slow starting is probably transmission fluid, make sure it's topped off. Some trucks with the check valve removed do this every time the torque converter has drained, just something to be aware of until the transmission fluid has warmed up.
It sounds like you're describing my truck exactly as it was a year ago.
