Well, from my experience that 1 inch will give you nothing, there's only 3 things that will get you though the mud,1(very aggressive tread) 2(front and rear locked diffs) 3(lots of tires speed) and you cant have tire speed without a lot of HP, basically HP is what keep you on top of the mud, rather than sinking into the mud...
