Default mpg test this morning...

did a mpg test with the new lifters this morning... kinda sad but there is some good news coming from it.

all of the tests this morning have the following... stock intake, 195 deg t-stat, stock intake, new lifters + all the old mods.
1) stock pcm program. mpg =14.03. same as before the install... almost exactly (scary)
2) installed the hypertech 93 program, pinged really bad at low rpm's and under load (freway on-ramp) 13.97 mpg
3) installed the hypertech 89 program, pinging minimized but still there, mpg jumped to 15.61 mpg...

my goal to get over 15 has been achieved, however there is still a few problems, 1 being the pinging, and 2 push rod length needs to be shorter I think. I'm gonna run it this way for the next week and see if the 15 mpg stays. it is in a learning cycle right now and only has 100 or so miles on it since the pcm reset.

I'm gonna switch back to the modded intake and 180 deg t-stat later in the month and run the 87 program test again since it's now where the "bar" is.

anyway, that's the update... if anyone has any thoughts on the pinging, let me know... I'm gonna go see if i can find my ngk o2 sensors and pop those in to see if it fixes it...

thanks! hopefully when the pinging problem is fixed it wont hurt the mpg too much.

yesterday I swapped out the o2's with a couple that were in the tool box, no change on the pinging.
