Is it possible to put a different year Ecm in my truck as long as it's the same program number does it have to be programmed to my truck !!?

 

I put a used PCM on my '96 Dodge Ram that I picked up off eBay and it worked fine. If I recall correctly, I matched up the part number and truck options. For my year truck, no dealer or any other type of programming was required.

What year, make model truck are you working with?

 

2000 dodge 2500 v10
Auto

 

You might be able to replace yours with a used one but being a 2000 you will definitely need to get it reprogrammed by a dealer to match your truck's vin.
