I got 17 mpg out of a 360!!!!!!!!

i accomplished it driving to portland OR from corvallis on 93 pump gas averaging 70 mph (ok fine 75). with 245/75/R16 stocker all seasons. stock lift. and no front air dam/valance with the valance i get 17.5



200 miles, three hours of driving

 

thats what my dad gets around town with the 360, runs 87 octane and has 245/75/r16 tires

 

the higher the lift (4x4) and the bigger the tires, the worse the gas milage gets. that's why I targeted 15mpg with the 295's & 2.5" of lift...

If you can get that kind of mileage, you better never sale that truck!

 

i will put more engines in that truck before i would ever sell it. that would change the mileage i'm sure.. with a new hemi crate in there.. ohhhh that would be sooooooo nice. screw the only four cylinders firing.. i want EIGHT!!

 

I checked my mileage the first two tanks of gas after i bought it, 75 mph-towing a Windstar- got 12mpg. I was tickled with that!
have never checked it since----did any of you really buy your truck for the mileage? HELL NO you bought it cause it it the baddest lookin and running truck out there!!

 

uh... duh............. but you gotta admit 17mpg is pretty nice... i shat some bricks when i figured that out

 

17 mpg is like a dream to us 4X4'ers
