Does anyone know of anyone or has ever heard of anyone putting a more 'modern' transmission behind our 2nd Gen V8s? Was wondering if it was even possible to do with anything available, and if it would increase power and gears past like 55mph

Problem is getting it to mate up with the block and controlling it. You would need a separate controller just for the trans. Then you have to change the vehicle pcm to a manual as not to get codes. There is one for the diesels (allison conversion).
