M1 intake and 52mm or 53mm trottle body
I was wondering if anyone out there is running the M1 intake with a aftermarket throttle body, I'm looking to upgrade from a stock throttle body and move up. I am also wondering if any body noticed better low end by doing this upgrade. i really like the manifold but it really doesn't come alive until 3,000 rpm's. any help would be appreciated.
I understand this is a 3rd gen truck but I know the 5.9l gas engine died in 2003 so I was looking for help here as this engine was used in all 2nd gen.
2002 Ram 1500 Quad cab 5.9 gas engine, automatic with 4 wheel drive.
3" body lift
Pace setter headers with a Flowmaster American Thunder Stainless exhaust
37 x 11.50 17" BF Goodrich taKO2 with XD 17 x 9 rims.
M1 intake ( i got rid of the "keg" to solve 1 of the oil consumption issues) and a K&N air filter.
MSD 6al, MSD 8.8 mm wires and MSD blaster coil.
GS2 4.56-1 gears along with Auburn Posi differentials
Power Stop upgraded brake calipers with stainless pistons, EBC drilled and slotted rotors and green stuff pads.

I don't run anything... yet
If you want a bigger tb, go with the 52mm. The 53mm is for more serious stip type use, and probably not work well with what you have, even with a upgraded intake. If you tow often, a 50mm would be better. But for best bang for your buck, I'd say the 52mm.

I'd say go with the 50mm TB. You've already lost some low end with the M1, adding a 52mm will just use more gas and lose even more low end. However If you use the 3500 rpm range and up you may enjoy the 52mm.
Thank You for the info,
I did notice a drop in low end as soon as i put on the M1, When I bought it I was looking forward to do major engine work in the future but time and no money got in the way, but now with this thing using oil like crazy its time to suck it up and start a build.

no provision for fuel injection. we were running a carb on it.

thanks for the heads up guys but i already have the intake on the truck, I've had it on for three years now, and in just looking to sort out a couple of more things. I recently did the gears and it helped a lot. I'm just looking to change the throttle body before i get the tune to adjust the gear ratio and tire size, and add a few more pony's
