Transmission replace flex plate won't start

I got a 98 dodge ram 1500 5.2. I replace the flex plate in it now i cant get it to start . Its got no fire . Could i have moved the crank shaft ps or unplug something

Probably damaged the crank sensor pulling/installing the trans. It's kind of a pain to get to, but, you are going to have to pull it, check it, and make sure none of the wiring harnesses got pinched between the engine and trans.

Welcome to DF! :D

Thanks that is what I was thinking

Bring your arm with three elbows..... The crank sensor is a major pain. In more than one sense of the word. :D

I found the cps on the back of the block what or where does it plug in to

AtomicDog Mar 13, 2017 10:41 PM

The crank sensor bolts to the block and plugs into the wiring harness via an unmistakable plug-in connector.

Thanks everyone i got it running it wsa the crank sensor. I took the wheel n fender linin5out n cut some of the sheet metal out of the way luckily i had it on a lift it was easier to get to that way

HeyYou Mar 15, 2017 07:31 PM

Did it have a bad experience with the trans R&R?

wildcats03 Mar 15, 2017 08:11 PM

Not sure what you are asking

Did you give it a boo-boo while you were messing with the flexplate?
