Default 46re transmission question

So I'm throwing a code for the torque converter clutch solenoid I found a kit that comes with everything shown in the picture but all the guys at orileys say replacing the tccs will only be a temp fix and what the truck really needs it a new torque converter and I'd rather get more opinions on this

Also if I do replace the torque converter and recommended one to use and would it be easier to pull the motor or drop the tranny to do it

No the solenoid is a common failure. That kit is a good set but you'll have to drop the valve body to install it. Not too difficult but just a heads up. It's easier to install all the parts anyways with the valve body off.

I rarely find someone behind the parts counter that knows much about anything vehicles unless you happen to find an old timer that has been doing nothing since he was young.

Ok so you would say try this kit before dropping the tranny and buying a torque converter and the way I see it the parts counter guys are usually half way right lol

And up your line pressure a tad.

There's a procedure in the service manual on how to adjust it. Just about a half turn should do it, IIRC. It will firm up your shifts some and help with the TCC locking.
