Thinking about a high mileage head swap
Got about 194,000 miles, cylinders 7 and 8 have about 106-108psi compression, other cylinders are about 135. Compression numbers are about the same with dry compression tests as they are wet. Truck stalls going down the road sometimes, and just seems pretty tired sometimes. Thinking about slapping some new heads on it. With my current mileage, would doing that tear up my bottom end, or am I good to swap heads? I'd be looking into the Clearwater / Odessa Heads.
I'd say yes. The Magnum mantra is that the block is good to 250K w/o a problem.
I don't think it's an unreasonable plan. Assumes your cylinder walls are good and rotating assembly are good to go.
Received my Clearwater Heads last week. Just waiting on a few more parts.
