Yes it stays pegged.

Probably just a failed sensor, or shorted wire.

Maybe so but it does seem odd to have the ac issue and the temp gauge issue at the exact same time. This truck had no issues before last driven. I will be buying pressure switches and a temp sender and pray................. I will keep all you updated and Thanks for your posts'!!!!

Just a coincidence. The two circuits have nothing in common. The temp gauge is just a voltage passed thru a variable resistor. Resistance varys according to temp. That's what the gauge shows. The A/C doesn't really care what temp the engine is......

Does anyone have information on the correct oil and amount needed for a gasoline 97 Ram ? Also, what is the best coupling release tool I can buy?

PAG oil. Should be able to find it right next to the refrigerant.

I bought one of the aluminum fellers, that only does one size. The plastic multi-size tools wouldn't fit where I wanted to use them, and broke too easily. Get 'em at Advance Auto.

Thanks Hey You!!! I have a new compressor that has a sticker stating that is has a pre-fill of 3 ounces. I plan to do a system flush so I'm thinking I should dump the 3 ounces of whatever it is and pour in the suggested amount. I get conflicting information regarding the correct amount. Do you have any definitive information relating to the total oil amount and should all recommended oil be put into the compressor or should some go into the accumulator? Also, I have some leak dye to put in. Do I decrease the oil amount if I'm adding leak detecting dye? Sorry for so many questions.
