I've been fighting ping since I bought mine in 01. Haven't heard it much since I removed the tuner and now I just run the deathflash. If it's truly pinging bad, you won't have any power, so if you still like the power you have, then its not pinging as bad as you think. I've had light, heavy, intermittent, constant, and scary ping plus part throttle and heavy throttle, underdrive and overdrive ping. My engine now has 217k and doesn't feel any less powerful than 15 years ago. Here's what you do:

1. Run a good strong Seafoam treatment (maybe 2)
2. Put copper stock plugs in, maybe even a colder plug
3. Route plugs wires correctly
4. change cap and rotor to brass
5. Remove the tune
