Default Who has done an axle seal?

I've got a 98 ram 1500 that has a bad axle seal. It has the dana 44 front axle. After i have the wheel hub and axle shaft out, what will i need to get the old seal out and the new one in? Will a slide hammer work? And do i have 2 wheel or 4 wheel ABS? Im gonna need a new wheel bearing after i take the old one out because of the rust.

I'm assuming that you are doing the side where the seal is behind the CAD cover. I did my Dana 60 and I believe the process is similar for a Dana 44 front axle You will need a length of threaded rod, some nuts and a steel plate for the wheel side. The threaded rod is used to pull the seal into place with a seal installer (see http://www.quad4x4.com/catalog/qt1041/ for more details). There was a member on this site making the installers with a 3-D printer for folks that asked for free. If you search some of the old threads on this subject, you might likely find him.
