Default Will a 35gallon fuel pump fit a 26gallon tank?

I messed up and ordered a fuel pump online for my 01 ram 1500 5.9 extended cab short box, the correct one says it will fit 26-34 gallon tank and the one I ordered I notice says for 35gallon tank.. Has anyone else done this and will it work? Don't want to wait another 2 weeks to return and receive a different one..Thanx ahead.

Although I cannot answer your question directly, I would say, do a part number search. If it's the same part number, it should fit.

I believe it will fit. I've installed the same pump on a 26 gallon and a 35 gallon tank. I was trying to upgrade to a bigger tank (so I could drive to every other gas station, instead of every gas station), but then the 35 gallon tank wouldn't fit my truck...

You should be good to go.

K. Thanks, I'll go ahead and remove mine then and try it.. Just didn't want to pull it out and be completely without a pickup for a couple weeks if it didn't fit, it still drives around town with only 27-30psi just not very good..
