Hughes Air Gap Question
I have a few questions for those of you who have the hughes air gap intake. First off, when installed with a 52mm throttle body and a cold air intake, will it make my truck run lean? Also, Is it going to make me lose low end power and torque over the stock kegger? And finally, since I am on a tight budget, compare this manifold to HS 1.7 roller rockers. Which mod is going to give me the best bang for the buck? I am going to do both eventually but for now i want to go with the one that I'm going to notice the most difference with as far as throttle response and overall performance gain goes.

Don't bother with the cold air intake. The stock one on the truck performs better than any of the after market ones you get. Stock pulls from the inner fender well which will be as cold as you can really get. Partnered with a high flow filter and you're golden.
I've never had a problem with the truck running lean. I believe with the heated O2 sensor it isn't a problem we have.
If it were me I'd do the air gain again. No sense in messing with internals if the engine can't breathe. Intake and exhaust first with an SCT tuner

The CAI will not gain more power and will make more noise from under the hood when you go wide open throttle.
You won't loose any noticeable torque with the airgap but you will gain a tiny bit of HP/TQ above 3500 rpm. Not enough to justify the price and the sloppy fuel rail. 20 hp/tq increase. If i were to do it over again, I would keep the kegger and make sure the baffles are cut back for max flow.
You won't notice any improvement from roller rockers, the airgap isn't that great either. If you you want to keep your truck running as fuel efficient as possible pass on the airgap.
I'm not trying to be a downer just giving my honest opinion. These mods won't be worth the effort or the money. I will probably put my motor back to near stock down the road due to the fact that the only things that really made a difference for me was 4.10 gears and I want to get my fuel efficiency back. I will probably dyno again before I decide that though. Save your money for something that actually makes a difference like gears or a turbo. keep the motor stock. (gears won't add power, only puts motor in proper rpm range to pull an the hills)
I know that's not what you want to hear but hope it gives some perspective.

1.7's are still on my list.
It's not a single mod that will see gains but a combo of mods all working happy harmony to achieve the gains you are looking for.
Instant off throttle Torque...Stick with the stock BB manifold.
Want a little more pep....Work on the exhaust side first, ya gotta breath out before you can breath in.
