Default O/D button

Quick question for you guys, I can not find the answer to my question, so my O/D button on my gear shift, I push it nothing happens, the light doesn't say O/D off and my truck doesn't act like the O/D is off. Is there a fuse maybe? I have no idiots lights on the dash and the O/D light doesn't come on when I first start the truck?

I was first thinking that maybe the bulb Burt out, but I ramondly push the button when I am driving on the freeway and nothing happens. The truck runs great and shifts great. I am the second owner of this truck and I've had it about a year now the guy had a new transmission put in, about 20k before I bought it from a big shop here in a town. They did everything right but the O/D doesn't turn off I guess you can say. Just notice this due to me having to use it.

Any help will help out.

It is a auto with a 5.9

the wire for the od button exits the shift lever under the steering column trim....remove the trim and check for a broken wire.

Okay, I'll have to check that out sometime this weekend. I hope it is as simply as a broken wire, but we'll see
