I know this forum is filled with questions like these, BUT mine does not have 16" rims, all of the threads involve 16" rim sizes and I'm posting to specifically ask about a Ram with the 17 inch rims.. So

Will 285/70r17's fit on my stock 1997 1500?
No lift at all or leveling. Just raw stock.
Currently have 255/75r17's on her. Any help or experience in this area would be appreciated. Just don't want any rubbing...

Even though your running 17" rims instead of 16 the overall tire size is still the same diameter and width. So all the threads about 285/75/16 tires are relevant.

 

I had 275/65/r17's big pumped up tires on my old 01 3.9 regular cab ram and they were fine, actually been thinking about getting some new tires and wheels for my 95 5.2, I actually liked the slightly lifted look it gave the truck, just seemed more mean if that makes sense.

I'd need to research more but I believe mine on the 01 3.9 were taken off the 2000-01 4x4 models, they were the stock 17 inch ram wheels although looking on google it's weird since mine didn't have the center cap on any and were painted black .......on my 95 5.2 they're the stock chrome (with caps... ) 16 inches w/ currently 245/75/16s
