Default Help with some Headers

I am looking to buy some nice headers for my truck...What would be the BEST ones i could buy that would give me the most overall improvement??
Im not worried about its "smog legalities" so anything would do....And what would be better, shorties or full length?

well full lengths are always better thant shorties as porformance wise but as of now i was still pretty sure they didnt make a set of full length tubed headers for the 4X4's yet.. i got the shortie edelbrock ones on my 4X4 and they are awesome!!!!! get em ceramic caoted so they will be the last set you gotta buy..

I also have the ceramic Edelbrock shorties (part number 65642). What I like best about the Edelbrocks versus Gibson or JBA or most other brands of shorties, is that the primary tubes are 1 5/8". Most others are 1 1/2" Given that these are only shorties, this extra size really makes for improved flow, and sets you up well for future mods that would benefit from bigger headers (i.e. cam or rocker ratio changes, superchargers, turbos, etc... never say never). I saw very good increases, but most notably in mid to top end, which is what I was looking for. The 1 1/2" primaries might give you better low end results. Just depends on what your goals are. I saw slight decrease in mpg, mostly due to driving it harder though i'm sure.

Long tubes are still the best. I think long tubes do exist for the two wheel drive, and there was a company that was supposed to be making some for 4x4 rams, but I haven't seen them yet. GSMotorsports makes a mid size header for the ram that is supposed to be excellent, but it is very expensive (about $900 with y-pipe), and it is not even ceramic. Edelbrock also makes a setup that replaces your y-pipe too. I have heard good things about it. It is part number 66012.

Let us know what you decide to do, and what results you see.
