Default Help with overhead console computer

I have a 1996 Laramie Standard Cab/Long Bed 318/A4. my problem is that the overhead console computer doesnt work. The tempature and compas setting works fine, however when you press the Comp./Temp. button to change the setting nothing shows up. Ive checked the fuse panels and there is nothing mentioned about the console. I checked all of them anyways and they were all fine. Im third owner so I didn't get a manual and this was an issue when i got the truck 3 months ago. Thanks

Huh...another person from a warm temperature state with a dead overhead computer. Imagine that [8D]

You're not the first person to have this happen. There have been a few from Arizona and Florida that have had this problem as well. My truck is from Florida, and also has a dead computer. They're in a bad spot on the cab, where it gets the warmest. The plastic on mine was so brittle I had to put on a bunch of JB weld just to strengthen the housing. There's nothing you can really do to fix it. I've had mine apart and soldered the lose joints...re-soldered other joints. Nothing fixed it. As far as I know, nobody else has ever found a fix for theirs either. The only option is to replace it, or live without the computer function.

Personally, I've never been a fan of them anyway. Calculating mileage yourself is always more accurate.

It's located right in the console. There is no other part of it. What you took appart is the whole thing. Maybe you loosened a solder joint or something when you had it apart/re-installed it.
