Default Lower ball joint loose

Newbe to the site, thanks for any help

I have a 98 dodge ram 1500 4x4. I put new upper and lower ball joints in about 6 months ago. Yesterday I was rotating tire so I jacked up the front right side by the axle to take the tire off and noticed the lower ball joint was not pressed all the way in. It was down about 1/4 of an inch. I looked at the other side and it was fine. I thought maybe I had just screwed up and not pressed it all the way in. I am usually pretty careful and been working on cars for 30 years but you never know.

So I lower the Truck down and the ball joint goes back in all the way! I went to the other side to see what it does and that ball joint does not move when I lift that side.

If I remember correctly the ball joint did not press in very easy so it should be tight.

Anybody ever run into this problem? Looking for some suggestion on what to do.

Thanks in advance
Gary
