Thumbs down Still no luck with 98 Ram 1500

So here's where I'm at, 98 Ram 1500 5.9, truck just quit going down freeway one morning about a month ago, sputtered on side of road, turned off and started a couple times, third time ran fine so took back off, a litter further stuttered and puttered again this time it seems to be a permanent condition. Figured it was the fuel pump, changed that, no change, change coil and cap and rotor, no change. Check (as best is could anyway) cam sensor, crank sensor, tps, mas, new coil, coolant temp, (bad changed that, melted down actually). Check plug wires for resistance, checked injectors, auto shut down relay, all the grounds I could find, cleaned battery terminal (figured it couldn't hurt), check all fuses and relay. bought a scanner...no codes. Changed PCM and still nothing! It will start when its been sitting but it just chugs for 15-20 seconds and dies then wont start again. Might be time to part it out but I can't be without a truck and can't afford to buy a newer one or keep sinking $$ into this one. Anybody that has any ideas I'll give them a try!

If you only checked the crank sensor, then replace it. I've only read a few stories like yours and if memory serves, the crank sensor is a dead engine culprit. There may be a leak in your fuel line too letting air in.
