rear end yoke on dana 80 drill out and put bigger bolts or replace yoke?
so I had to get my tranny rebuilt and while removing the drive shaft one bolt into the rear yoke stripped on me, then to make it even more fun I had a friend "help" me put the tranny back in and extract the bolt and drilled out the threads on the yoke. so am I better off drilling the other 3 holes out and putting bigger bolts and locking nuts in or should I remove the yoke and replace it? I don't have big breaker bars or anything like that and everything I have read says that nut is a pain to remove.
thanks for the help

That yoke is expensive to replace and its best not to disturb it and possibly mess up the pinion bearing behind it. If it were me, I'd drill out the holes and use slightly larger bolts or use a tap to cut threads in the yoke for bolts slightly larger so you won't have to use lock nuts. You could also use U-bolts, if desired - https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dana-Spicer...hT19Bg&vxp=mtr
Did you ever hear of helicoil? It is a name brand but others make the same kind of thing.
