Default Fastman TB: any mods to the airhat?

I am interested in getting one, however, read that another manufacturer's TB requires minor mod's to the air cleaner /airhat

what about the fastman 52?

here's a place that does not charge for the core:

I think you can get it for $220 from Dan if you mention the dodge forum. Plus if you read all the fine print from that v8performance website it says your credit card will be billed $125 if you don't send back your core. So yes you will get charged if you don't send a core back. At least Dan only charges $80 in case you would want to keep your stock TB for some reason.

thanks for the input.

I had been leaning towards fastman anyhow as I have read they have great support. I might need it. Never worked w/ a tb before. Plus I plan on replacing all the sensors on the tb w/new ones at the same time. Hope that isn't a problem. Then I planned on replacing my o2 sensor. So hopefully, w/all the new sensors and the tb it will really run good.

Note: The core exchange program was setup to keep downtime on your vehical from happening. You are required to send back your old throttle body within one month of recieving your new one, full instructions will come with product. If you do not send it back your credit card will automatically be billed $125.
Straight from the page you linked...go with Dan's product. I'm putting mine on tomorrow (finally)!

You get a shorter s-bolt with his TB as for modding the airhat I didnt do anything to it and I added Airaid about a month after...everything fits nice

As for never working with TB its much easier then a carb and similar in time to removing belt and alternator, piece of cake, minimal knowledge needed

You guys really need to post what u think after the install.

I would take your truck out around the block....come home put the TB on and then do another lap and see If you can tell the difference, put a smile on my face and a dent in my gas budget

Install went easy, except one screw on the back sensor was somehow stripped when I went to take it off. Simple fix though! Awsome TB. I'll post pics of my old one and Dan's later today. But the response was outstanding!!!

Yes, Yes, please post the picture......I took one when I changed mine but I had the camera on "super fine" and it blurred. Didn't know it until after the install. I wasn't going to take it back off for a pic.

Installation was a piece of cake. The instructions I received with the TB were kind of blurry, so I went to thefastman.com and printed off a set from the site. No biggie. It definitely helped the throttle response, I have not noticed any mpg improvement. Dan told me up front that he had customers that had noticed mpg improvement, and some that didn't. No one had a decrease - unless they couldn't keep their foot out of it! I would suggest getting one, just for the improved throttle response. Come on, it's only $220!
