Default 3.9L Eng/Trans swap to older truck

Hello all, I hope I didn't miss this topic in a previous thread ( I did search...) but here is my question. I have a 1985 Dodge D150 that I am putting together for my daughter. It needs just about everything. I have a 99 Dodge Ram with a 3.9L and automatic that will be my next project truck. The 99 will get a complete makeover so since I have a complete running donor truck for my 85 I figured why not try it. My daughter doesn't need a hot rod or speed demon so the V6 will be good. The real question here is, would I have to pull the complete underhood/dash wiring harness to go with the eng/trans when I put them in the 85? Does anyone know of a stand alone module or engine control system I can use for this? I know this isn't a normal swap or very desired so I figure I will have to pull the entire harness and put it in the 85. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need the PCM, gauges, CTM under the dash, an finally engine and transmission harness. But will also have to use the gauges in the 99. There is no standalone computer (that I know of). These electronic trucks really make it difficult because everything communicates. It isn't like the old days whare you can take any engine bolt it in, and give it power and spark then it would run (electronic ignition was a little more complicated but basically the same). These new trucks everything needs to communicate with one another. Being the new gauges are bigger then they had in the 80s I would say you will need to do a lot of modification.
