So long story short i was sitting in my truck at lunch and heard my belt squeal and then lost alternator voltage. Popped my hood and coolant was everywhere like a hose blew out. Checked everything and couldnt find a deff leaking point. Replaced thermostat, water pump, new coolant sensor, all hoses along with all new gaskets everywhere with rtv for safe measure. Jacked truck up and positive all air is out ive delt with that before on other trucks. Truck overheats withing 15 min so then i made sure no air was in system again and went and bought another thermostat and boiled it to make sure it worked. Still over heated. So then i removed thermostat and put all back together. Now i cant even get the temp needle to move. Drove around for 15 min and let it idle for 45 and still ice cold. Coolant hoses are not warm. Radiator not warm. Engine kinda warm.
drained oil there was actually a tiny bit of coolant but i am thinkin it was from the blow out and went into the dip stick. Sounds crazy but it was flinging coolant right up to the bottom of the dipstick cup deal so i think i caught some coolant. Also i flushed heater core back and forth and nothing but clean and clear came out. Im not sure where to go from here. Read for hours on here and cant really find anyone with this exact issue. Most have no heat and heatercore issues. Any help would be awesome and appreciate the time if you have any

You pretty much diagnosed the issue. The system is not burping completely. On my SBC and 5.9 magnum i have drilled two tiny 1/16 holes on opposite side on thermostat. Never had any issues with burping the system. Thermostat opens/closes as it should. Heat works great. I have drained/filled coolant system on Dodge, for repairs, many times and never had trapped air issues. I have read about many of these issues on the Magnum engines though.
