Default 00 ram 2500 engine rebuild

Have been lurking around this forum for a long time now without signing up and somehow kept my truck running so thanks for that. I'm a proud owner of a 2000 ram 2500 5.9/360 with almost 150k on the clock (this is a toy truck for me not daily) I am debating on ripping out the engine and trans and doing a rebuild. I have no experience with engines other then reading this forum and changing parts. I want to know if you guys think if it's a project I should take on for fun and if it may be worth it. Maybe it's better to change to another engine for a bit more power? What are your thoughts?

To minimize downtime of the truck, I find it best to find another 5.9 motor to rebuild. Once completed, just perform a simple swap and sell off your old motor. Depending upon your budget, you can also purchase an already rebuilt 5.9 motor (long block). I do the same with transmissions, too.
