Angry 1999 dodge ram 1500 5.2

I have just replaced the transmission on my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.2. Part # on transmission is P52119820AA. Now I am not getting any fire on the plugs? When you turn the switch on you will get temporary fire at the coil, then will lose fire. Will the sensor at the bell housing cause it not to fire or run, if so why no fire?

Many thanks
Ron

You're in the right area, unless the distributor or coil is unplugged.

Check the connector on the sensor (the one your talking about) n see if it's on all the way. did the distributor hit the firewall when the engine sagged during the tranny replacement. There are a few sensor plugs in the general vicinity that could possibly cause this.

Thanks true blue...I will check your info. Just wondering if that sensor ALONE would cause no fire at plugs? Replaced the coil.

If the crank sensor is unplugged or the sensor or wiring is faulty then the coil doesn't know the engine is turning...ergo (saw someone use that word recently/emplies intelligance) co reason to fire coil.

The crank sensor often gets damaged when changing transmissions. It's best to get one from Mopar. Sometimes the parts store ones don't work correctly, ergo you'll have to go buy the Mopar sensor and change it again. LOL
