Default Front axel

Hi

First time post, 2001 ram 2500 king cab 4x4 diesel 227000 miles. I have problems with the ball joints in the front axel. The replacement ball joints do not fit properly, (loose). It appears the bore that the joints go in, is worn. Is there a fix for this or do I need to look for a replacement front axel ? Thanks for any help/input

Andy

you need oversized ball joints. factory ones won't fit anymore...try aftermarket. i have used napa ball joints in the past when this occured; try there.

it all other avenues for finding ball joints that fit fails and your considering a new axle you can try welding tacks inside the bores to make a tighter fit. This is by all means not the right way but it will work.
Just weld some tacks in the ball joint bores (axle C's) and grind down "smooth-ish" until the new joints are a tight press.

Also depending on how loose it is you might be able to use shim stock.
