For those seeking a trailblazer lightbar
As most of you know I have been doing alot of research on this bar. I got an email from a guy with alittle more information on the topic. These bars look great on rollbars on the rams but are very hard to find. I have been buying them and restoring them as I find them. Here is the email he wrote me.
Aloha Ron,
You're welcome! Nice website btw. When I purchased the light bar back in 1998,
they explained that it wasn't a sealed unit and to expect some moisture during the
wet season. I use the light bar on occasion when driving on the beach and on
trails, and as you know, it lights up the path very well. There's a few scratches
here and there, but it is to be expected. So far, I have not experienced any
problems in material or workmanship, though I had to find a replacement end cap and
roof mount after an accident I had a few years ago (parking structures!).
This was when I found out they went out of business. After making several calls to
various agencies, I found two ex-employees, Barbara and Chris. They were very
friendly and talked to me about how the Japanese ordered hundreds of the smaller
units (SR-131) for their golf carts because they love their golf so much... so much
that they even golf at night! Luckily, they had a few end caps and roof mounts left
and I bought whatever remaining stock they had left, just incase I come accross the
same problem again here in Hawaii. I asked them what happened to the company, and
that's when he said it was sold to someone in the middle east. Go figure! I have
their number filed away somewhere in my desk, but it's been so long, I'm not sure if
it's still active.
Thats about it. If your buying or selling please contact me and Ill do my best to help you.
