Default Manual Shifter Thread Pitch?

Hey everyone,

I have an '01 with a 5 speed in it. I was wondering if anyone knew what the size and thread pitch of the shift handle is on these trucks? I'm trying to build my own shift lever that connects to the shifter on the floor so that I can use a beer tap handle as a shift ****. I bought the tap handle online not knowing how big it actually was so when you screw it on to the stock shift lever the handle is almost touching your chest. I took my shifter lever off and measured it with calipers and a thread gauge and it measured out to be 9/16 with a 13 thread pitch but thats a really uncommon size, so is it metric?

Thanks for any info you guys have,
Frank
