Default Fuel filter location

I have a 96 Dodge 1500 and it won't start I've come down to the conclusion that there's no fuel going to the motor, I'm trying to find the fuel filter and have no clue where it's at. Any help would be appreciated

I have a 99 w/ the V-10 . I looked for a fuel filter everywhere (just for routine maintenance) , never did I believe that they only put one in the tank. I finally started losing fuel pressure 14 years/ 85k later. I'm only guessing here but if you can't find the filter it's probably not the there . Hey, they can't hide it from you too well right ? It'd have to be on the fuel line. Anyhow, if you drop the tank (it was way easy on mine) do yourself a favor and buy the regulator/ pump / filter as a complete unit and run real low on gas just prior to R&R . It's not difficult, but you also won't want to do it twice . My new part wasn't OEM nor was it the
'proper fit' for my model/ year. I had to go buy a couple of quick connectors that were reducers . That was really the hardest part of the whole job. Anyway, I hope it helped you. Good Luck. Ram On !

The only fuel filter these trucks have is the one around the fuel pump in the gas tank.

I have a 96 Ram 1500 and the only fuel filter is the sock (as they call it) on the fuel pump.
I've put two fuel pumps in mine over the years , the 1st. I dropped the tank, the 2nd. one I unbolted the
truck bed and raised/tilted it enough to get the pump replaced.
I recommend the 2nd. method.

Default THank

Thanks for the info SHADOWD & RAMCHU . I had no idea that most 2nd gens. were equipped this way. Thought it was weird but I haven't had any problems with the filter,(it was the regulator or pump that finally got tired gradually) and required me to replace it . I was surprised to see how clean the filter & tank actually were . I expected some sediment or something but absolutely nothing but gas in there.
