I have a '00 Ram 1500 Quad 2x4 5.2 with rear drum brakes. A buddy is getting rid if a 2002 1500 Ram with rear disc brakes. He bought it for parts for his beat up Ram 1500. He doesn't need the rear disc brakes and will give them to me for nothing. My husband needs to know what he has to do to switch from the '00 rear drums to the '02 discs.
He's wanted to put rear disc brakes on my truck but the conversion kits are pricey but now that we can get the rear from an '02 for nothing he knows it'll be a lot cheaper. Only threads I found were for conversion kits. Any help or links would be appreciated.

 

It's not a bolt in conversion, The rear backing plates will need to be removed and the bracket's from the other rear welded on. Might be easier to just swap the whole rear.
