Default front end clink or clang

When I park truck in driveway and shut driver door there is a clang noise from the driver side front end. It does this only once when the door shuts. After driving no matter where i go it does this.
The front end has new tie rods, steering gear and ball joints. The truck is a 2001 dodge 2500. Beginning to suspect steering shaft to steering gearbox. Truck has 260k on it.

If the front end has problems that are announcing themselves just because you close your door, it's more than likely you'll you'll really hear from them when you drive. Pop the hood, check around, climb underneath, push n pull on things. You're exhaust heat shields just might be loose. It could be any one of a thousand things.

The sound only happens once. And only after driving it. Then its done and ONLY closing the door is when it makes this clanging noise. No noise driving at all. The front end is basically new and recent alignment.
It was doing this before the tirerods were installed this past week. Simply have not been under the truck near driverside when door shuts. Just wondering if anyone here has had this type of noise.

Get a couple people together, take it for a ride, then have them listen when you shut the door. Hopefully will narrow it down some. I'd also try getting out the other door.

Take a rubber mallet or piece of wood and whack the cat a good one...or two, or three...any familiar noises?
