Default Need help!

Hey guys I’ve got a 98 12v and I’ve been having issues with it starting I replaced batteries last Friday and it’s started and ran fine every time but now I have to jump it off and acts like there’s no power at all it did it before I replaced batteries but now they’re dead. Is it an electrical short? Or my alternator? Honestly I don’t have a clue figured some of y’all would know appreciate any advice thank ya.

Alternator is suspect but check it first. Remove the belt and see how it spins. Check the charging cables and all connections. Check the grounds. Check fuses. Even the belt tensioner as it provides tight belt to spin accessories. Does it start anytime you jump it?

Do you have bright lights and all functions inside - radio, dash, heater, etc.?
