Default Frozen crank sensor

Hello all, this is my first post here. Im looking to gain some knowledge regarding the '04 Dakota SXT I bought a few months ago. Lots of rust but a the engine and trans seem good so far. Anyway I got the code for the crank sensor (P0340)? but the amount of rust around this thing has frozen it in place. I have been using WD40 and PB blaster for a week and its still very stuck. I haven't broken it off yet and my mech said its a "big $$$ job if the oil pan has to be dropped to retrieve it". Anyway was wondering what your thoughts were to loosen this thing up?? Is it crazy to start drilling some holes in it, (not deep), to get more PB in there? Im kind of screwed once the sensor is busted up but what else can I do? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

This is the Ram section. You need to post in the 2nd gen Dakota section.
