Fitment of 37s Can Be Done!
Ok this is mostly bring made for anyone who is just browsing this forum but may help anyone looking to add a bigger the to their truck.
The truck: 2001 Ram 2500 5.9L Gas (360 for the gearheads who prefer cubic inches, like me, instead of liters) WITH 1500 SUSPENSION AND AXLES so basically a 1500 Mods: Just a 3in leveling kit from Rockauto Now just a disclaimer some of the modification that in going to show you too do to stop running could be solved by two things. 1. They say anything above 2" spacers you need longer control arms as the able gets pushed back. So getting longer arms may solve the one issue. 2. Getting aftermarket lower control arms that have a bend for larger tires, at full lock turning left it does hit the litter control arm bad. One last disclaimer if you are going to go Off-road with this setup YOU HAVE TO DO ONE OF THE FOLLOWING!! Either get longer bump stops or a body lift/suspension lift. I have lockers front and rear and with the suspension articulating Off-road the tire does contact the fever more then you would think. I have the factory 3.55 gears and it will do a burnout no problem but you should regear, if you don't take it easy as you don't want to fry your trans. Going to take pics today as I do it so stay tuned lol |
Here is the rubbing on the driver's side. These tires aren't even full tread maybe 30% left but they were free so I took them. Going to make a template so I can cut each side evenly.

Didn't have to take off much. No not much at all not the control arm that's a whole different story. I'm thinking about a body lift next.... What do you think? Also look up FabFours kit to fit 44s stock on the newer trucks. I have a set of spare fenders I am going to try and replicate that. |
I'm really not a fan of body lifts..... granted, it's a LOT cheaper than a suspension lift though......
