Default Finding Parts

I have a 1995 Dodge 1500 4x4 5.2 L. I've run it to the shop for break issues where I'm nose diving and all usual symptoms for rear break failure, and they're telling me that the rear proportioning valve system, (part numbers 52008786 and R2007312 (also has a second number: 52007312)) are bad and was Dodge's first attempt at rear ABS. "Convenient" internet searches keeps redirecting me to GM parts and the dealer can't locate anything cause it's an old obsolete system. Can anyone throw me a tip to help save my little Dodge?
I guess I shold add since it's in my mind to look into: is there any way anyone can thing to update this system so I'm not pressed to find parts of days gone by? It's leaf spring only and I know I need a trailing link to do any sort of major overhaul with drums to axle matching ETC, but just looking for everyone's opinions and experiences. I'm a little ambitious with this truck given it's my very first (on-its-own-power) running vehicle and it was specifically selected.

I went to google and typed in "mopar 52008786" and got all kinds of hits for that part number. Be sure that you have the right part number by checking with the Dodge parts dealer. Once you have that, I have no doubt that the part is still available somewhere and can be found via a few web searches.

Where, in general, are you located?

Have you tried e-Bay?

Also, I think the reason Chevy parts appear in your searches is because Dodge and Chevrolet use the same parts suppliers for brakes and also the rear axles.

I'm currently residing in utah, salt lake area. There is a dealer just by our house and they can't find the part number any longer but they can find the part and say to the effect that because it's no longer manufactured they wouldn't have an idea where to begin other than junk yards. But, our only hit for junk yards, thus far, was in ogden, and unfortunately, where the part sits is where the damage was that totaled the vehicle thus, its hit and mostly miss for a part that may work... I'm sitting with one from a junker that, like the stock I had, is also faulty so I had two valve proportioning unit systems (valve differential metering) that don't work.

Check this link for a link to the parts manual for your truck - https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...s-manuals.html Once you pull up the parts manual, you should be able to find the part number for the proportioning valve used on your truck. From there, check that part number to see if its been superseded with another number. It sounds like you encountered a 'lazy' parts rep - try speaking with another parts rep either at that dealership or reach out to another dealership, as most have 800 numbers for their parts departments. Once you have a good part number, search via eBay, Amazon and google by the part number to see if you can locate it. As mentioned, you may check to find a rebuilder for your existing valve. You can also try http://car-part.com/ to expand your search for used trucks that may have a good proportioning valve on it. You can try your local Craigslist to see if there are wrecked trucks for sale in the parts section and in the cars+trucks for sale section.

Lastly, do you have a photo of the valve that you can share in this thread?

Continue to have patience, persistence and faith and I'm sure that you will find the solution you need.
