Default Brake Warning Light After Line Replacement

Hi all! Just had all steel and rubber brake lines replaced on my 98 1500 4x4...pedal feels excellent, stops like new, no leaks detected. Any idea why my red brake warning light would be on?? ABS light goes off like its supposed to but the red light stays on. All pads, rotors, drums, wheel cylinders and shoes were replaced last june. The light wasn't on until I got it back after replacing all the lines 3 days ago...I'm stumped.

You could try resetting the pcm by disconnecting the battery for about a minute or so to start with.

So did a shop replace them and give it back to you with the brake light on? Did you try pulling up on the E-brake pedal?

OMG I'm such a moron!! Never even crossed my mind to check the E-Brake...and guess what? The darn pedal was depressed not even 1/4 inch, but it was apparently enough to trigger the light! Pulled the release and whaddya know, the light went out! I can't believe I didn't check that FIRST. Thanks for the help, guys. Its much appreciated. Glad we figured that out before I went back to the shop to raise hell, and ended up looking like a jackass 😂

Sweet. I've had that happen a couple times and wondered what the hell. Guess they want it all the way up.
