Default Sport Grill on a 98 2nd gen?

I was wondering if anyone has been able to install a 99-01 sport grill on a 98? I've been wanting to swap the old bumper to a 4th gen one but i dont want a gap between the grill and bumper.
Sorry for my bad grammar.

Thank goodness you won't ruin it with a 4th gen bumper - that's the stupidest alteration.

Yes, plenty have done the swap back in the day. There are some different brackets I believe but otherwise it swaps in. You should replace the grille too since it finishes it off. Probably some old threads floating around if you search.

Let me ask you this are you using a Chrome 4th gen bumper or are you painting it to match the truck? I modified the 4th gen bumper and had it rechromed locally, to get rid of the gap. I still have a gap but it's because of the hood is bent so it didn't go down the whole way. Here you can see my bad hood. I got a front bumper with the parking sensors because I plan to use the front sensors for parking. (Notice the big gap above the fender)
