Turn they key to on-off-on-off-on within 5 seconds. The CE light will go off then it will start to flash. Write down the order it flashed. It flashes in intervals. The first one will probably 12. To show this it will blink once, then pause for a little while, then blick twice. Next there will be a noticably longer pause. This starts the next #. Lets say it blinks twice, pauses, then blinks 5 times. Thats 25. Post what the codes are on here. You can look them up also here.

Not sure if you checked the link Socha_62 gave you but your code indicates a problem with the o2 sensor on your cat convertor. Don't know if your truck has 1 or 2 of them, mine only has 1 but some one else on the forum may know.Didn't mean to post if you looked it up already

21** O2S Stays at center
O2S shorted to voltage O2 sensor does not detect rich or lean condition, or O2 sensor input voltage too high. DRB will indicate which side with dual sensors. The O2 sensor signal should fluctuate under normal conditions.

97's have 2 I think. Take it up to AutoZone or someplace and have them check what Bank # and Sensor #. If you keep having this O2 problem maybe theres another reason thats causing it. Hmm
OK MY CE LIGHT WENT OFF FOR TWO DAYS NOW BACK ON AGAIN TRUCK STILL RUNS FINE WHAT NOW THANK FOR ANY HELP

crawl up under neeth the truck and on the exhuast youll see on or two little plugs screwed into the exhaust pipe...one will be before the cat and maybe another after the cat... depending on where you live (for emisions reasons) and your year and model... check the wires... i had one wire start the fray on the heat sheilding and caused a CEL.. wrapped it up and reset the pcm and bang... all set!!!!! give it a shot... i did pick up an o2 sensor from the stealership for my 01 ram and it cost me damn near 120 bux just for one... what a RIP .. and if you need to replace it... get the mopar brand.. the bosch universals from autozone from what i hear are junk... goodluck!
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Don't feel alone. This is my first Ram and not to sure I'd buy another. I've put about 10,000 miles on mine since buying and have had to replace the trans,(still trying to get that working right) water pump, fan clutch, ps pump, exhaust(all of it) turn signal switch, headlight switch twice, shocks, tps, trans cooler lines, belt tensioner, belt idler, block heater,t-stat and housing, rear window latch and more. Just the joy of owning a dodge i guess.
