I have a 99 Dodge ram 1500 2 wheel drive 5.2. The AC was working up until the compressor went out. I changed out the compressor and now the clutch will not engage. Its filled with freon, to the recommended 2lbs. I've determined that it's the relay. I checked on my relays by changing them out with the horn and they all worked my horn so the relays are all good. I can you jump a wire from the 5 pin to the 1 pin on the fuse box, and the clutch will engage. However when I put my relay in the AC clutch spot the clutch will not engage. Is there something I'm missing, or a different solution?

Was the system properly evacuated BEFORE the freon was put in? If not you may have overcharged the system triggering the high pressure switch. The pcm engages the relay but if either of the low or high pressure switches are engaged it will not turn on the relay.
