Default Need stereo help

I've read many posts on here about the stereo and the internal amp with the speakers and infinity/non-infinity stereos in dodge. I have a 97 QC 360 with the infinity stereo. My question is if i replace the head unit and all four speakers will i run into any problems with sound or internal amp? Also will the 2 tweeters work also or should i change those out at the same time?

Well the internal amp won't have problems because your mids and highs will run off of your deck and whatever that puts out plus your factory amp. I would go ahead and change the tweeters so your not mixing brands, it might not be a problem but it's not a bad idea. I don'y see any problems with you just being able to take out the factory speaker and putting the new ones strait in. Although a amp will make it louder and let the mids and highs run at there top.

I have a 97 with Infinity too. As far as I know my tweaters work....but to be honest I never actually listened to close.

One thing that does SUCK is that I have zero bass from any factory speakers now. Course my two 12" subs make plenty of bass but you can still tell. Theres no midrange bass that the factory speakers would normally put out. I'm not to sure if I messed up the wiring or if it actually screws something up with the internal amp like your talking. One day (probably in spring when its not 20 degrees) I'll pull it apart again and check my wiring harness.

Just a little word of advice. If you do swap head units take the extra time and effort and make each of the wires into the little plugs. I did that and its really easy if I ever want to take it out and swap it with either another aftermarket one or the stock one.

Hope this helps!

gotta remember something... an amp converts sound and reproduces it..and internal amp is junk compaird to the potential of the aftermarket deck... assuming its a decent brand....if so and the new deck as hpf and lpf crossover options along with some kind of eq.. then id suggest bypassing the internal amp...wiring the speakers directly to the deck,,, i did this when i put my deck and system in and the sq is remarkably different..especially if you use some decent highguage speakerwire. i used 12 ga streetwires speakerwire...and the system sounds alot better then it would going through the stock amp...also...an aftermarket deck output will be greater then the internal amp anyway...well the newer ones will atleast... my deck putsout a 70X4 utilizing a didgital amp. the true rating is like some 30watts... rms...still realy high for a deck with no post amp...(Panasonic.. AWESOME deck) and the internal stock amp would only deter the sq potential... its a suggestion...you dont have to do it... you can easly put in the new deck and then sometime later run dedicated wires to the deck from the speakers....if you do this be sure it get some inline "bassblockers" with atleast a 1000 micro-fared rolloff so your tweets arnt trying to sound like your 6X9's .. the stock speakesr in the trucks arnt that bad... but anything aftermarkety will usually..but not always..sound better....
