tranny question

i just had the tranny replaced w a used one ran me 1200 smackers the mech said it was out of a 2005 model but im questionable bout it what is the easiest way to find out more on the tranny there is a tag on the tailshaft housing with the date 04/01/99 and a bunch of other numbers...searched the web but couldnt get any info

I highly doubt the tranny is out of an 05, since the 05s use a 45RFE transmission. It wouldn't work too well with your computer. And it definitely wouldn't have a manufacture date of 04/01/99.

It's probably a 46RE transmission, since that's about the only one that would work right.

In typical Mopar fashion, the 4.7 and 5.7 Hemi share the same bellhousing. Therefore a 5-45RFE out of an `05 won't bolt up to a 360. Unless you buy an expensive adaptor.
