Default 1996 2500 4x4 front axle u joint

I need some suggestions as to which u joints to buy to replace the one on the driver side. Hopefully with part numbers and best source? I live in a small town and the local parts place seems to be confused as to what I need to order. They say that the parts are different for each side??
This is for a 5.9 gas ruck not a diesel.

Stick with OEM Spicers or you will do them again soon.

If you have an axle shop like a big-rig repair shop in an industrial park, they will carry Spicers.

Or go here:

U-joints on both sides were the same on my 96 2500HD when I did the front-end a few years ago.

Same part both sides. Rockauto has Spicer joints, they're even cheaper than ones from the Denny's. 1480-series joint, 5-188X for greasable, and SPL55X for non-greasable. These were not listed under the Dodge Ram 2500, but when you type the joint part number to search field you'll find them (at least SPL55X was found for my truck) For some reason Rockauto lists u-joint for right side, but not for left, but don't let that confuse. U-joint doesn't care which side it's rolling.
